I have a natural and genuine passion for real estate. Having moved to Hobart from Melbourne in 1998, then permanently from 2009, I could see Hobart would become one of the most desirable and opportune places to live. I believe this is still the case and that we will continuously see Hobart flourish, driven by current and planned large scale construction projects across the city, a booming and ever increasing tourism sector year in and year out, and population growth. I have worked with vendors and purchasers to ensure successful property settlements across over 1,000 sales contracts over the last few years. My banking/broker experience enables me to provide a structured buyer qualification process as part of the sale, which is critical to a successful settlement (one which is often not carried out in the industry).

In 2015 I was awarded by the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia and the Commonwealth Bank as the State Credit Advisor of the year, and runner up in 2016 in the combined Vic/Tas awards. I have advised clients on over $130 million worth of residential loans across many lenders, and have secured finance for people linking their situation and property with the right lender, to ensure property purchases are able to go ahead without issues.

Since 2001 my wife and I purchased property across Canberra, Melbourne, and Hobart. In 2008 we built a home in Ranelagh overlooking the Huon River, which has been enjoyed by many over the last 5 years as a short term holiday rental (Airbnb and Stayz). 

I have total faith and optimism in the Tasmanian property market across all regions, and have a strong vested personal interest and on going experience with it.  In 2016 and 2017 I purchased property across the northern suburbs and the eastern shore, and in 2018 will be conducting renovations at my home in West Hobart. I enjoy sharing my experiences and helping guide people with their goals and objectives.

I have worked as a mortgage broker in the real estate industry since 2012, including working closely with buyers, vendors, banks and non banks, lawyers and conveyancers and other real estate professionals to ensure the key elements of sales contracts are fulfilled seamelessly  – confirmation of finance and settlement date. I have coached agents on buyer qualification – a key skill gap across the industry which is crucial to ensure the successful and seamless settlement results of property sales.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree (UTAS) as well as Diplomas in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management and Project Management. I have worked as an insurance specialist/team leader (NRMA), project manager for federal and state government departments across Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart, including as a consultant to the Derpartment of Housing (Tasmania).

I have a strong interest in on going learning and provide a positive and unique value proposition to my clients through my experience in banking and investment innovation, foresight, professionalism, integrity, risk management, transparency, resourcefulness, open communication, reliability and accessibility. I have been a member for several years at the Cygnet and Domain tennis clubs, playing in pennants weekly. I am able to pretty much watch or have a go at playing any sport! Since 2015, I have been employed by the AFL casually as an interchange official and enjoy the buzz of game day.

My wife and I have a passion for architecture, landscaping and doing our best to protect and conserve the environment, and have been inspired by our trip to the USA in 2011 when we toured Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Fallingwater.’ Property, finance and economics are a large part of my life and are often a talking point! I have a passion for helping people professionally and through volunteering. And, of course I love a coffee at my local cafes, Smolt Kitchen on Hill Street and Zimmah on Murray Street.

I have been married to Angela for 7 years, and together for 22. We have an active 2 year old daughter Roselyne, and 2 dogs Molly and Lucy. We enjoy taking Roselyne to our local parks and spending time in the garden.
