What is a Petrusma Property id?
You may have noticed the 5-digit id numbers appearing now on all our real estate guide ads. This id number provides an easy online reference to all our properties.
Simply go to petrusma.com.au on either your mobile phone or computer, and enter the id number in the Petrusma Property id box to view the property details directly.
Alternatively you can enter the id number directly into your browser's address bar following petrusma.com.au - eg. for property id 45678 type petrusma.com.au/45678
This number also appears on our photosigns, brochures and PROPERTY magazine as well, so getting the property information you want is now quicker than ever!
On petrusma.com.au you can now view all our listings either in Tab View, Single View (all) or Single View (select). You can personalise your display settings by going to the bottom right section of any property listing and choosing your preferred default view.
What's the difference?
Tab View | This allows you to view all property information using separate "tabs" - similar to the browsing method employed in many modern web-browsers such as Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3 and Safari. This method of viewing is also similar to how you would navigate your computer's operating system (or even a traditional filing cabinet!). All of a specific type of information is gathered together into one folder or "tab" which you can click on straight away to get to the items you want, as opposed to needing to vertically scroll through a page to find the information you want. Our listings have tabs for the following (where available): Photos, Property Description, Map Location/Google Streetview, Floorplans and Video Tours.
Single View (all) | This is the traditional view, with all information arranged continously on one page, following on from each other - navigated by vertically scrolling through the page.
Single View (select) | Similar to Single View (all), but with the exception of being able to select only the information you want to see for each property.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers, whose content changes regularly, syndicate their content as an RSS feed to whoever wants it.
Our RSS feeds allow you to see the latest properties that have been listed across our seven offices, and also create your own feeds based on your own property search requirements.
Why RSS? Benefits and Reasons for using RSS
RSS allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually and you ensure your privacy by not needing to join each site's email newsletter.
The number of sites offering RSS feeds is growing rapidly and includes most of Australia's major news and property portals.
What do I need to do to read an RSS Feed? RSS Feed Readers and News Aggregators
The latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox & Safari web browsers all have RSS feed capabilities. You will know there is a RSS feed available from a website when you see a small RSS icon in the address bar of your browser. All you have to do is click the icon to see the feed.
Alternatively Feed Reader or News Aggregator software allow you to grab the RSS feeds from various sites and display them for you to read and use.
A variety of RSS Readers are available for different platforms. Some popular feed readers include Amphetadesk (Windows, Linux, Mac), FeedReader (Windows), and NewsGator (Windows - integrates with Outlook). There are also a number of web-based feed readers available. My Yahoo, Bloglines, and Google Reader are popular web-based feed readers.
Once you have your Feed Reader, it is a matter of finding sites that syndicate content and adding their RSS feed to the list of feeds your Feed Reader checks. Many sites display a small icon with the acronyms RSS, XML, or RDF to let you know a feed is available.
